Day 220: dozy dozy by J Rabbit // 7
GENRE: korean, jazz
Now this is what I call cafe music. Music that you can zone out to, but really only because I don't understand the lyrics. My favorite interval drop occurs around 38 seconds, where you really know it's jazz. It kind of tricks you in the beginning, playing around very harmonious and satisfying chords, before dropping into a more upbeat, poppy, jazzy cadence. It's quite intimate, consisting of only a piano, a guitar, a singer, and some auxiliary instruments trickling in here and there. That being said, there aren't exactly impactful moments, and rather goes for a structure that feels like floating, or surfing along a wave.
Although it's not the most complicated piece out there, it fulfills a certain niche that everyone needs to explore sometimes.
