Day 210: Sofia by Clairo // 7
GENRE: indie pop
I'm really enjoying Clairo's new album, and I decided to pick one today that's a little bit more out of the ordinary. There's quite a bit more spunk in this one (although not much considering her singing style). I'm just really into the instrumentals; she opts for a beat that lends itself well to dancing. A higher tempo, a faux-swinging hi-hat, and a booming synth give it all the qualities of a pop song while maintaining the subdued swagger of a Clairo song. What's more, the lyrics are quite simple and catchy. A simple and welcome addition to break the pacing of the album.
