You're not supposed to judge a book by its cover. But, am I allowed to judge a band by its name? Of course! ALASKALASKA is ridiculously hilarious and quirky. I'm a fan. How about the music, though?

Yes, it's good. Hailing from South London, they've got that underground, indie vibe. What makes them stand out to me though, is their appreciation for and usage of dissonance as a main part of their chorus. Subsequently, you get the idea that this contributes to the personage and characterization of the "monster". That, along with their rich sound, makes this a very likable, more contrarian piece. Synths plague the background; there's quite a few layers going on. Almost like a storybook, the song rises into a climactic clash before falling into the resolution that closely mirrors the introduction.
