Day 42: The Boxer by Simon & Garfunkel // 8

Continuing down the album, you got a quintessential folk song, with soulful guitar fingerpicking, a bellowing bass drum, and a tippy-tappy mood to boot. You've got a few quirks in there too with the saxophones, and what sounds like a gunshot taking the place a traditional snare.

It's cleverly composed, with a properly written buildup. As with any S&G song, the lyrics are layered with profound meaning on top of the stories they tell. It's songs like these that I can really appreciate. Simply poetry in motion.
